Janki Dass Rice Mills

You can find Janki Dass Rice Mills over on Nadana Road in Taraori. This area is famous for rice, and we have been part of that for quite a few years now. Our mill handles various types of grain, but we mostly focus on what the local farmers bring us after their harvests. The yard is usually full of yellow bags and the smell of raw rice is everywhere. It’s a busy place, especially during the peak months when we have to run the machines almost all day and night. We have a few guys who live nearby and work the shifts with us. It’s not an easy environment because of the heat and the constant hum of the hullers. We don't spend money on fancy offices or polished brochures. Most of our business comes from long-standing relationships with people who have been coming to us for a long time. The office is just a simple room with a desk and some chairs where we handle the bills and drink tea with the drivers. Sometimes we have to deal with equipment failures which slows everything down, but that’s just part of the trade. We do our best to keep things moving. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of the different lots of grain. We are just a local mill doing our part in the rice trade, nothing more and nothing less.
