Suraj Rice & General Mills

We are located right on G.T. Road in Babarpura Mandi under the name Suraj Rice & General Mills. Being near the Mandi means it’s always busy around here, especially when the harvest comes in. You see trucks lined up all along the road, and the noise never really stops. We’ve been handling rice and other grains here for years. The mill itself is an old building, but it does what it needs to do. Inside, it’s always a bit dark and filled with the sound of the husking machines. We don’t have a website or a marketing department. If you want to talk to us, you just come down to the mill. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the grain coming in. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, but we just deal with it as it comes. It’s physical work, moving heavy sacks and making sure the machinery stays oiled. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill around, just a reliable one for the local farmers and traders. On a typical day, we start early before the sun is even fully up to get a head start on the heat. By the time the afternoon rolls around, everyone is tired and covered in a fine layer of dust. But that's just the way life goes in the Mandi. We’ve been here a long time and don't plan on going anywhere. It’s a lot of work, but we are used to it.
