Swastik Rice Industries

We are situated on Collage Road, right across from Mahavir Bhavan. At Swastik Rice Industries, our days are mostly filled with the sound of the mill and the smell of raw grain. It’s a loud place to work, and you definitely can't wear your nice clothes here. The rice comes in from the fields, and we spend our time getting it ready. The location on Collage Road is pretty central, so we see a lot of people passing by on their way to the hall at Mahavir Bhavan. We have a lot of old equipment that we have to fix ourselves most of the time. There’s always a belt slipping or a motor that needs oil. It keeps us on our toes. The warehouse is usually full of stacked bags, almost reaching the ceiling when it’s harvest time. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how the machines should sound. When things are running smoothly, it’s a good feeling. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay out of the direct sun when we aren't loading the trucks. The floor is always covered in a bit of chaff, no matter how much we clean it up. It’s just the nature of the industry. We’ve been here for years, and the routine hasn't changed much. We just show up, start the engines, and get the rice moving out the door every single day for the customers.
