Singla Rice Mills

Singla Rice Mills is right on the Main Road in Anaj Mandi. If you’ve ever been down that way during the harvest season, you know how busy it gets. There are trucks everywhere and the smell of grain is always in the air. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite some time. The building is old and has some cracks in the walls, but it’s sturdy. We spend a lot of time checking the machines and making sure the rice is moving through like it should. It’s loud inside when everything is running. Sometimes we have to shout just to hear each other over the motors. We don’t mind the noise much anymore. My father started things here and now we just carry it on. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust, no matter how much we sweep. That’s just the nature of working with rice. We see the same farmers coming in year after year. It’s nice to have those connections. We don’t do any big advertisements or anything like that. People just know we are here on the main road. On rainy days, the road gets a bit muddy, which makes loading the trucks a bit of a chore. But we get it done. It’s just how we live and work every day in the mandi.
