Deep Rice Mills

Deep Rice Mills is located over on Phul Road. It’s a fairly basic place where we spend most of our waking hours. The mill is really just a large shed filled with machines and the constant sound of grain moving through pipes. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning; we’re usually out on the floor where the action is happening. The Phul Road area is home to a few businesses like ours, so there is always a bit of a buzz around the neighborhood. We handle everything from receiving the raw paddy to bagging the final product. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the day, everyone is covered in a fine layer of it. We don’t use big words to describe what we do because it’s not complicated—it’s just hard work. We have been at this for quite some time, and we’ve seen the seasons come and go. Each year the crop is a little different, and we have to adjust how we run the mill to get things right. Sometimes the trucks arrive all at once and the yard gets chaotic, but we find a way to sort it out. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous; we just want to keep the mill running and do our part in the local trade. It is a simple life on Phul Road, centered around the harvest and the machinery. When the machines are humming, you can barely hear yourself think.
