Down here in Medipally, near the NTPC Ramagundam area, things stay pretty busy most of the time. We are located in the Karimnagar district of Telangana, and you can usually see the power plant structures from nearby. Being an engineering college means there is always a lot of activity in the labs and workshops. Students come from all over the region to stay in the hostels or commute from the town. It gets quite hot in the summers, so we try to keep the classrooms as comfortable as possible with fans. The hallways are usually filled with talk about upcoming exams or projects that need to be finished. We have the usual labs for electronics and mechanical stuff, and though the equipment isn't brand new every year, it gets the job done for the practicals. Most of the staff has been here a long time and they know the local area well. It isn't a flashy place with marble floors, just a solid brick and mortar institution where people study and work. During the breaks, students hang out near the canteen or under the trees to escape the sun. We focus on the daily schedule and making sure the lectures happen on time. Engineering is tough, so we just try to provide a steady place for the students to focus. It’s a quiet life out here in Medipally compared to the big cities, but it’s a good environment for getting things done.
