Yamaan Leather International

Our place is on Meston Road, right at 42/89. It’s an old building but it serves us well for what we do with leather. It smells like hide and polish all day here, which I don't even notice anymore, though visitors always mention it. We deal with various leather goods, mostly stuff that people use every day. It’s not a shiny showroom. We have stacks of material and tools scattered around because we are always working on something. Working with leather is tough on the hands. You get calluses and stains that don’t wash off easily. We’ve been at this address for quite some time now. Meston Road is always noisy with traffic and people shouting, but inside the shop, it’s mostly just the sound of cutting or stitching. We don't really do big ads. People usually find us because they were told by someone else. Sometimes we have scraps left over and we try to figure out what to do with them. It’s a small operation. My brother helps with the heavy lifting and the inventory. We don't have a website that works properly, so most things happen face-to-face right here. The floor is concrete and we have these old wooden benches that have been here since we started. It’s a practical space. We just focus on the leather and getting things out the door when they're ready.
