We are located in the Hamraj Commercial Centre, which is at No. 60 43 in the Nayaganj area. If you know the Banaras Hotel, we are right near there. Nayaganj is a very crowded market area, and finding a parking spot is almost impossible. Our office is inside the commercial complex, which is a busy building with people constantly moving through the hallways. We have a couple of rooms where we manage all the paperwork for our international trade. There are stacks of files everywhere and the phones seem to ring at the oddest times because of the time differences with other countries. It is not a very modern office; we have old wooden furniture and some faded maps on the wall. We often get tea sent over from the hotel nearby when we have visitors. The atmosphere is usually a bit hectic, with people shouting into phones or rushing out to meet a transport contractor. We do not have any fancy brochures or a marketing team. Most of our business is done through old contacts and people we have known for years in the trade. The air conditioning works sometimes, but mostly we just leave the door open to get some air from the corridor. It is a typical trading office where the main goal is just to keep the goods moving and the accounts settled. We stay until the work is done, which often means leaving long after the market has closed.
