Urvashii Beauty Parlour

Urvashii Beauty Parlour is situated at 21B Javeev Nagar Road, right off Shiv Katra Road here in Kanpur. If you look for the big Peepal tree, we are right near it. It’s a very local spot. I started this parlour because there weren't many places nearby where women could go for a quick hair wash or to get their eyebrows shaped without going all the way into the main city. The shop is part of a small building and we have a humble setup. There are a few chairs, a mirror, and my supplies on the shelf. I don't have a big staff, it's mostly just me and sometimes my sister helps. We see a lot of the same faces every month. It’s nice because we can just talk about neighborhood news while I work. The power goes out sometimes, like it does in many parts of Kanpur, but we have a small backup light so we can finish what we are doing. It’s not a fancy air-conditioned salon with glass walls. It’s just a room where we do honest work. We keep our prices low so everyone can afford to come in. The Peepal tree provides some nice shade outside when it gets really hot in the summer. We don't have a website or an app, just a phone number and a door that stays open most of the day for customers.
