Our daily life involves the heavy work of tanning hides and managing leather goods. It is a physical job and the air always smells like the processing materials we use. Sultan Villa is where we keep all our equipment and the raw skins we are working on. We don't have a fancy front desk or a receptionist in a suit. Usually, you’ll just find one of us covered in dust or working a machine. We spend a lot of time checking the leather and making sure the drying process is going right. The weather really matters to us, especially when it gets humid. We have a small crew and most of us have been working with leather since we were young. It’s a skill that takes time to learn properly. The villa is crowded with rolls of finished leather waiting to be shipped out. We often work late when there's a big order to finish. It’s not an easy environment, but it's what we know how to do. We don't put on any acts here. It’s just hard work and leather. Being based in Jajmau means we are close to everything we need for the business. We just keep at it day after day.
