Sarang Hair Saloon

Sarang Hair Saloon is right there in C Block, very close to the Hanuman Mandir in Kidwai Nagar. If you live in this part of Kanpur, you probably know where the temple is. We open up early because a lot of men like to get their shave done before the sun gets too hot. The shop has been here for a while, and the chairs are the old-fashioned kind that are actually quite comfortable. We do haircuts, beard trims, and sometimes a head massage if the customer looks tired. There is usually a cricket match on the small TV in the corner. We don't have a receptionist or anything; you just walk in and wait your turn. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we are always sweeping. Kidwai Nagar is a busy area, and we get all sorts of people, from students to retired uncles. The mirrors are a bit old, but you can see yourself well enough. We use the sharpest blades and standard creams. It gets loud when the bells from the mandir ring, but we like the sound. Sometimes we run out of cold water in the dispenser, but there is a shop next door. It’s a basic place for a basic haircut. No one is trying to be fancy here. We just work hard and make sure the neighborhood looks decent. We’ve been part of this street for years and plan to stay here for many more.
