Asif Hair Salon

I run Asif Hair Salon at Shop No. 76 on Mall Road in Kanpur. This area is always buzzing with people and vehicles. My shop is just one of many small businesses along this long road. It is a small space, shop number 76, but I have been here long enough that local people know exactly where to find me. I mainly do haircuts and shaves for men. I have a couple of old chairs that have seen better days, but they are still sturdy and do the job. The mirrors are big and I keep them wiped down every morning. Mall Road is a very busy place to be. There is always noise from the street coming inside, like horns and people shouting. I don’t have any fancy assistants or a receptionist, just me and maybe one other guy on the weekends. We use the basic tools—clippers, scissors, and straight razors. Most customers are regulars who work in the nearby offices or the other shops. They come in for a quick cleanup before heading home after work. I don't follow all the latest fashion trends from magazines, I just do what the customer asks me for. Sometimes we talk about the weather or the latest cricket scores while I work. It's a simple life in Kanpur 208004. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done for everyone. I keep a few newspapers for folks to read.
