Ayushi Beauty Parlour

Ayushi Beauty Parlour is situated at 271, Ramadevi Road, right on the National Highway-2. We are in the Harjinder Nagar part of Kanpur, specifically near Lal Bangla and the New Sabzi Mandi. Being so close to the highway and the vegetable market means it is never quiet outside. There is always the sound of trucks and people shouting in the mandi. Our shop is a bit of an escape from all that noise. It’s a modest place where women from the local area come to get their hair and skin looked after. We have been here for a while now. The interior is simple with a couple of chairs and a large mirror that covers one wall. We do all the usual things like threading, facials, and hair coloring. Kanpur is a dusty city, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and the floors. We have a small water cooler for the customers because it gets incredibly hot in the afternoons. Most of our clients are housewives from the nearby colonies who come in while their kids are at school. We talk about the prices of vegetables or what happened at the local wedding the night before. It’s a very grounded, local experience. We don’t have fancy brochures; people just know what we do by word of mouth. It’s just us doing our daily work in a busy corner of the city.
