Rider Tanning Industries

Rider Tanning Industries is situated at 242 Gajjo Purwa in Jajmau. This part of town is known for leather, and we are right in the thick of it. It’s an industrial setup, so it isn't the cleanest or the quietest place to be. We deal with the raw side of things, working with hides and the tanning process. There is a lot of water, salt, and heavy machinery involved in what we do. The smell is something you get used to after a couple of days, but it's always there. We have a crew of guys who have been doing this for years. It is physical work and it can be quite messy. Our office is just a small room with a fan and a few chairs where we keep our ledgers. We don't have a marketing department or a polished showroom. Most of our day is spent out on the floor checking the vats and making sure the leather is drying correctly. Jajmau is a tough place to work sometimes because of the heat and the dust, but it is where the industry lives. We just produce the leather and get it ready for the next stage. It’s an old-fashioned way of making a living, and we don't try to dress it up. We just focus on the tanning and hope the weather stays clear for the drying.
