Inland Leather Company

Anwarganj is an old place, and you can really feel that history when you walk down Phool Wali Gali. Our shop is at 78/315. Inland Leather Company has been in this area for a while now. If you come by to visit, you will smell the leather before you even see the door. It is a strong, earthy scent, but I have grown to love it over the years. The lane is quite narrow, so I usually tell people not to try bringing a big car down here. We work with all kinds of hides and heavy tools. My hands are usually stained from the different dyes we use. It is hard work and it can be quite dirty, but there is something satisfying about finishing a piece. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just find us or they know someone who knows us. The building is old and the walls are thick, which keeps it a bit cooler in the summer months. We spend a lot of time sitting on small wooden stools working on the details. It is not a fast process. You cannot rush leather work or it looks bad and doesn't last. We have seen a lot of businesses come and go in Anwarganj, but we just keep doing what we know. It is a simple life, focused on the material and the craft. Most of our customers are locals.
