We have been here at 104/90 (24B) in Wajidpur for quite some time now. Jajmau is a busy place, and Penza Leathers is right in the middle of it all. You can hear the sounds of the machines from early morning until the sun goes down. Most of us living nearby work here, so it feels like a big family more than a regular office. We don't really do anything fancy. We just focus on the leather work that needs to be finished. The air always has that heavy, earthy smell of raw hides and tanning liquids. It is just part of our life. Sometimes things get a bit messy in the yard when the trucks arrive, but we manage to sort it out. People walk past our gate every day on their way to the market. We know the neighbors well. If you come by Wajidpur, you will see us right where we’ve always been. The walls could use a bit of paint, maybe, but the work inside doesn't stop. We spend our days checking batches and moving rolls of material from one corner to the other. It is hard work, especially when it gets hot in the summer, but nobody complains much. We just drink some tea and keep going. That is how we do things here. It is a simple setup, nothing like those big glass buildings in the city center. We prefer it this way, honestly, because it’s what we know.
