Pacific Leather Exports

Our place, Pacific Leather Exports, is located at 187/189 Ram Rai Sarai in Jajmau. If you know this part of the world, you know it is all about leather. The streets are usually tight and there is always something being loaded onto a truck or taken off one. We spend most of our time inside the building dealing with the hides and the paperwork that comes with sending things abroad. It is not a glamorous job by any means. It gets hot in the summer and the smell of the tanning process is always around, but you get used to it after a few days. The building at Ram Rai Sarai has been our base for a long time. We have a few rooms filled with samples and the rest is just storage and workspace. Most of the guys here have been working with leather since they were young. We don't really have a front desk or a receptionist. If someone comes by, they usually just shout for one of us. Jajmau is a loud, busy place and we are just one of the many spots tucked away in the lanes. We just focus on getting the leather sorted and moved out to where it needs to go. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of bundles, but that is just how the day goes for us at 187/189.
