If you go down Jassi Wali Gali in Navin Market, near the Khanak Bangle Store, you will find us at Shop No. 271 on Samsons Street. This is Mithashi Beauty Parlour. Being in Navin Market means it is always noisy and crowded outside, which is just how Kanpur is. Our shop is right in the middle of all that hustle. It is a bit of a walk to find us if you aren't familiar with the lanes, but once you see the bangle stores, you are close. We have a small team here. The space inside is utilized to the maximum with mirrors and chairs. We do a lot of bridal work because of where we are located—people buy their wedding stuff nearby and then come to us. But mostly it's just everyday threading and hair stuff. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get to it. Sometimes the tea man from next door brings us chai while we work. It’s a very local atmosphere. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just hear about us from their neighbors or cousins. We use whatever products are available in the wholesale market that we know are good. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. We open when the market opens and we don't leave until the last customer is satisfied. I think people come back because they know exactly what they are getting from us.
