The shop is called Madona Beauty Parlour And Hair Saloon and we are located right here at Lig-9 on Kda Road. Jajmau is a busy place, especially near Kranti Nagar Chauhara where the traffic never seems to stop. I opened this place because I needed work and I knew how to cut hair and do basic beauty stuff. Every morning starts the same way. I reach the shop, pull up the shutter, and get the water running. The mirrors always need a good wipe because of the dust from the road outside. It is a small space but it fits what we need. There is an old ceiling fan that makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the air moving. People from around the neighborhood stop in, some stay for a long time just to chat about what is happening in Kanpur. I don't use any high-end machines, just my scissors, some combs, and the usual creams. Sometimes my hands get tired by evening, but that is okay. The chairs are a bit worn out at the edges now, but they are comfortable enough for a quick trim or a shave. If you walk past the chowk, you can usually see me standing by the door when there are no customers. It is just a regular local business. We don't have any big signs or fancy lights, just the name on the front and the work we do every day for the locals.
