Leather Online Ltd.

We are up on the fourth floor of the Commerce Centre in Chunni Ganj, room 403. It’s a typical office building with a lot of stairs and an elevator that works when it feels like it. Being in Kanpur, we’re surrounded by the leather trade, but our setup is more about the logistics and the digital side of things. The office has a few computers and a lot of ledgers. We have some samples of the leather we trade on a rack near the window so we can see the grain in the daylight. It’s not a very big space, but it’s enough for what we do. The view from the window is just other rooftops and the busy street below. We usually have the radio playing low in the background while we work on the orders. Leather Online Ltd. has been in this building for a while now. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We spend most of our time talking to suppliers and checking the shipping schedules. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always on full blast. We’re just regular people trying to keep the business moving. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. The stairs can be a bit much in the humidity, but we’re used to the climb by now.
