Leather Hauf

P/7 Ganga Vihar in the K. D. A Colony of Jajmau is where Leather Hauf is based. Jajmau is famous for its leather, so we are right in the middle of everything. You can smell the tanneries in the air most days, and it feels like home to us. Our spot in Ganga Vihar is pretty basic. We have some heavy-duty benches and plenty of storage for the hides. It’s a hands-on environment. We don’t sit behind computers all day. Instead, we are moving around, checking the quality of what comes in and goes out. The K. D. A Colony is a busy place, with a lot of people doing similar work. We keep to ourselves mostly, focusing on the tasks at hand. There’s no polished corporate vibe here. We have a small kettle for tea and a few chairs that have seen better days. The walls are mostly bare, except for a few notes pinned up. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just leather work. Sometimes the weather makes the hides a bit difficult to work with, but we manage. We’ve been here long enough to know how to handle the challenges. It’s just a regular local business at P/7 Ganga Vihar, doing what needs to be done every day. We don't need fancy mission statements when the work speaks for itself. We stay busy and we keep it simple, exactly as it should be for a place like this.
