National Leathers

We operate out of No. 1049/7 in the Ahmad Ali Complex, located within the Kda Colony. It’s right near Mecca Masjid in the Pokharpur area of Jajmau. If you’re looking for us, the masjid is the best landmark because the lanes around here can get a bit confusing for someone new. At National Leathers, the air always smells like raw hides and tanning supplies. It’s a heavy scent, but we don’t even notice it anymore. The complex is a busy place with a lot of heavy lifting and people moving bundles back and forth. We spend most of our time on the floor, checking the texture of the leather and making sure the pieces are cut right. It’s hard on the hands and the back, but it’s the work we know. The proximity to the masjid means we hear the call to prayer throughout the day, which gives us a nice break to catch our breath. Jajmau is famous for this kind of stuff, and we are just another part of that long history. Our space isn't decorated; it’s just full of tools, scraps, and finished goods waiting to go out. The dust from the road outside settles on everything if we don't keep the doors shut, but usually, they stay open for the breeze. It’s a gritty, honest way to make a living, and we just keep at it day after day without much fuss.
