East West Tanners

Jajmau has its own rhythm, and we are right in the middle of it at 104-D Block in Defence Colony. Being East West Tanners means we spend a lot of time around hides and the chemicals needed for the tanning process. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and the smell is something you either get used to or you don't. We've been at this for a good long time now. The workspace is filled with stacks of leather in various stages of being treated. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving heavy loads and making sure the vats are right. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most of what we do is just based on the routine we've built over the years. Some days are long, especially when the weather isn't helping with the drying process. We just keep at it though. The local area is full of similar businesses, so we’re in good company. You’ll usually find us in our work clothes, probably with some stains on them, just trying to get the day's quota filled. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We don't make big claims about being the top of the line; we just do the tanning work as best as we can with the tools we have. It’s just how things are done here in Jajmau.
