Over in C-Block of Defence Colony in Jajmau, you’ll find us at number 600. We’re Ideal Taning Ind. Pvt. Ltd. Tanning leather is what this part of the world is known for, and we’ve been doing our part for quite a while now. Our facility isn't something out of a magazine; it's a working tannery with pits and drums and plenty of wet floors. It’s a tough job and the hours can be long, but it’s what we know. We process the skins from start to finish. Some days the chemicals are a bit strong, but the workers are used to it. We have a lot of machinery that’s been with us for years, and it requires a lot of oiling and fixing to keep it running right. We aren't interested in fancy talk or marketing slogans. We just look at the leather and know if it’s been tanned properly or if it needs more time in the drum. The neighborhood is full of similar businesses, so there is always a lot of chatter among the owners about the price of hides or the new regulations. We just try to mind our own business and get the work done. It’s a lot of physical labor, and everyone goes home tired. But at the end of the week, seeing the finished pallets ready for transport makes it feel worth it. It’s just how things are done here.
