Geetanjali Beauty Parlour

This little parlour is right on the Main Road in Jhinjhak. Being near the mosque makes it very easy to find because everyone in the area knows that spot. We have a small sign outside so people walking past can see Geetanjali Beauty Parlour written there. Kanpur can get very dusty so we are always cleaning the floors and the shelves to keep things looking decent. It’s just a one-room setup basically. We have the usual things like a sink and some chairs for hair work. People from the nearby streets come in mostly for small things like eyebrows or a quick trim. We don't do anything too fancy or complicated here. It’s more of a place where neighbors meet and talk while they get their hair done. Sometimes the electricity goes out in Jhinjhak and we have to wait a bit or use the hand fans. That’s just how it is in this town. We know everyone's name and whose daughter is getting married soon. It feels good to be a part of the local community like this. We don't spend money on big ads because word of mouth is enough for us. If someone likes their haircut they tell their friend and that’s how we get more people. It’s a simple life running a shop on the main road and we are happy with how things are going day by day in this neighborhood.
