You can find us at Shop No. 5 in Block P of Yashoda Nagar. We are quite close to the Kaushalya Guest House, which is a big landmark around here. Kanpur is a big city but this neighborhood feels quite close-knit. We started this beauty center in a small shop to help the local women with their basic grooming. It isn't anything elaborate. We have a few mirrors, some basic products on the shelves, and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it as clean as possible. Most of our work involves things like facials, hair cutting, and bridal makeup when it is the right season. During the winters, we get very busy with weddings at the guest house nearby. We don't have any fancy training from big cities. We just learned by doing and listening to what people want. It is a family-run kind of thing. My sister helps me out when there are too many customers waiting. We don't have a big sign, just a small one over the door. People usually find us because they live just a few streets away. We like the routine of opening up, setting out the towels, and waiting for the first customer of the morning. It is a quiet existence but it works for us.
