Decent Leather Finishers

Our place is located at 102/97 B in Gajju Purwa, right in the heart of the Jajmau area. If you know this part of town, you know it's where most of the leather work happens. We handle the finishing part of the process here. It’s a messy job sometimes, dealing with the hides and the various treatments that go into making leather look right, but it's what we've always done. The smell of the tanning and finishing chemicals is something you just get used to after a while. It’s a small team of us working in the shop. We have a few big tables for laying out the skins and some machines that help with the buffing and coating. The floor is stained from years of dyes, which shows how much work has passed through these doors. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique; we just focus on getting the leather ready for whoever needs it next. The street outside can get quite narrow with all the trucks moving in and out, so delivery days are always a bit of a challenge. We mostly work with local suppliers and makers who need their materials finished to a certain standard. It’s hot in the summer inside the workshop, but we keep the fans going and just push through the orders. We take pride in the fact that we can tell a good hide just by the feel of it now.
