You can find us at No. 85/64 in the Sugar Mill area of Khalwa, Cooperganj. This part of town is known for its industrial history, and our building fits right in with its old brickwork and heavy doors. We mainly make leather items here. The workshop is always filled with the smell of leather and the sound of the stamping machines. It is a very physical job. We spend our days lifting heavy rolls of hide and cutting them down to size. The floor is covered in scraps of leather and we have to sweep it out every evening. We aren't a high-end fashion house. We just make sturdy, reliable products that people need for their daily lives. Most of our tools are quite old because we find they work better than the plastic ones you buy today. We have a small group of workers who are very skilled with their hands. We don't have a website or a salesperson. People just know where we are if they need something made from leather. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit during the lunch break to get some fresh air away from the fumes of the dyes. It is a basic workshop and we don't try to make it look like anything else. We just focus on the leather and making sure the stitching is strong.
