Hira Tanners has been over here at 16/17 D Civil Lines for quite a while. The building is older, but it serves us well for what we do. Tanning isn’t exactly clean work, so the place always has that specific smell of leather and materials. We don't mind it much anymore. Some days the sun hits the front window just right and makes it hard to see, but usually, it's just a steady place to work. We have a lot of heavy stuff moving in and out, so the floors have some scratches and dings. Civil Lines is a decent area, though it gets a bit crowded during the rush hours. We aren't the type to have a polished showroom with bright lights. Our space is more of a workshop where things actually happen. You’ll see us in our work clothes, probably with a bit of dirt on our hands. That’s just part of the job. We get our supplies delivered, sort through them, and get to work. It’s a bit of a routine, but we’ve got it down by now. We don't have a receptionist or anyone like that to greet you. If you walk in, one of us will just look up from what we’re doing and say hello. It’s just a practical business doing practical work. We’ve stayed at 16/17 D because it’s where we feel at home and can just focus on the leather.
