You’ll find Caravan Tanners (P) Ltd. out on Wazidpur Road in Jajmau. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s the heart of the tanning industry. Our place is pretty much like the others around here. It’s a working tannery, so it’s not exactly the cleanest or quietest place to spend a day. We deal with leather and all the processes that go with it. There’s always the smell of the hides and the chemicals, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We’ve been on Wazidpur Road for a long time now. The building is old and has seen better days, but it serves its purpose for us. We don't have any fancy marketing people or a big sales floor. We just have the workers and the vats and the drying areas. It’s hard, physical labor, and we’re usually covered in something by the end of the shift. Jajmau is a tough area, but it’s where this kind of work happens. We focus on getting the leather ready and sent out to wherever it’s going next. It’s not a business for everyone, but it’s what we know. We aren't looking to change the world, just to keep the tannery running and the orders filled. It’s just us doing the same work we’ve done for years. We put on our heavy boots every morning and get right back to the vats. It's just life.
