Bakshi Leather Exports

Our place is over in Govind Nagar, specifically at 61/10 in Block No. 7. It’s more of a workspace than a fancy store. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk in—it’s very strong and stays on your clothes all day. We deal with export orders, so there are always wooden crates and cardboard boxes stacked up near the entrance. Most of the day is spent checking the quality of the hides or making sure the stitching on the samples is exactly right. It’s a bit of a dusty environment because of the materials we use. We have a small team of people who really know their way around leather. You’ll see us huddled over big tables, measuring things out and cutting with heavy shears. It’s not a glamorous job, but we take it seriously because these things go a long way. The fans on the ceiling hum constantly to keep the air moving. We don't have a receptionist; if you come by, you’ll probably just find one of us with our sleeves rolled up working on a shipment. The neighborhood is mostly other businesses and workshops, so there’s always a lot of loading and unloading happening on the street. It’s just a practical, busy leather export house where we get things done and send them out.
