Payaswini Farmer Producer Company

Our office is in Building No. 527/X in Kuttikol, which is part of the Bandadka area in Kasaragod. We’re the Payaswini Farmer Producer Company. It’s a bit of a mouthful of a name, but we’re just a group of local farmers trying to work together to survive. Out here in Kasaragod, farming is what most of us know best. We decided to pool our resources and knowledge to make things a bit easier for everyone involved. It’s not a corporate headquarters with marble floors or fancy lights. It’s a simple building where we meet up and talk about market prices, seeds, and the weather. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out visiting the different farms that are part of the collective. It’s a bit messy sometimes inside the office, with papers everywhere and people coming in and out at all hours of the day. We don't have a big mission statement taped to the wall or anything promotional. We just want to make sure the people growing the food get what they deserve for their hard work. Some seasons are better than others, and we all feel it when the rain doesn’t come at the right time. We’ve been set up in Kuttikol for a while now. It’s a community thing, more than just a business for us. We all know each other’s families, and we all know the land we walk on. We’re just trying to keep the farming tradition going while making sure it actually pays the bills.
