Farmco Farmers Producer Company Limited

If you head over toward the Kannur University Centre at Mangattuparamba, you will find us. We are in Building No. 446. Our registration number is Miz134, though most people just know us as Farmco. Being near the university is quite handy because there is always something going on. We are a farmers producer company, which means we are owned and run by the people who actually work the land. It’s a cooperative effort, really. We spend a lot of time in that building discussing prices and crops. It’s not a high-end office with leather chairs. It’s more of a place with sturdy tables and a lot of maps and charts on the walls. We are just local farmers trying to make things work better for the community. Sometimes the meetings go on a bit too long and we don't always agree on everything, but that’s just how it is when you have a lot of different people involved. We have been at this for a while now. Kannur is a good place for this kind of thing because people here understand the value of hard work. We don't do much in the way of fancy promotion. Most of our members are our neighbors and friends. We just try to keep the operations running smoothly so everyone gets a fair deal for their hard work out in the fields. It’s a tough business sometimes, but doing it together makes it a bit easier for everyone.
