We are set up at No 3/842 along the Avadi Bypass Road in Poonamalle. If you know the area, you know how much traffic passes by on that road. Our building is right there, and it’s where we handle all the lab testing and technical work. It’s a bit of a contrast because inside the lab it’s quiet and controlled, while outside the bypass is always roaring with cars and buses. We have different sections for different types of analysis. The technicians are usually in their white coats, busy with samples and looking at data on the screens. We’ve been in Poonamalle for a good bit now. The space isn’t huge, but we make sure every piece of equipment has its own spot. We don't really have a big reception area or anything. Most people who come here are just dropping off samples or picking up results. It gets quite busy in the mornings when everyone is trying to get their work started. Sometimes the power flutters, so we have to be careful with the sensitive instruments. We just focus on getting the numbers right. We don't do much talking about ourselves; the work in the lab is pretty much self-explanatory if you’re in the industry. It’s a practical environment. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after tests and making sure the glass is spotless for the next day. It is a very routine kind of life here.
