Cholan Matriculation Higher Secondary School

At Cholan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we are located right on Ekambarapuram Street, just a short walk from the Kanchipuram railway station. You can usually hear the trains pulling in while the students are in their classes. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our gates. The building has been here for years, and it shows in the way the floors are worn down from so many kids walking over them. We start pretty early in the morning when the sun is just coming up over the station. The teachers usually get here first to open up the classrooms and get the blackboards ready. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular school where we spend our days teaching and making sure the kids stay on track with their lessons. At lunch, the whole place smells like lemon rice and sambar because everyone brings their tiffin boxes from home. We have a small playground area where the students run around during their breaks, and it gets quite loud with all the shouting and laughing. Some of the staff have lived in Kanchipuram their whole lives and know almost every family that sends their children here. We deal with the usual school stuff like broken desks or fixing the fans when it gets too hot in the summer. It’s just how things go here at No 9 C. We keep the gates shut during school hours, but once the final bell rings, the street gets crowded.
