Nairs Fishboy India P. Ltd.

We are based out of Plot No. 1017 in the GIDC area. It is pretty much what you’d expect from an industrial estate—lots of warehouses, trucks, and people in uniforms. We have been here for a while now, operating under the name Nairs Fishboy. The plot is a decent size and gives us enough room to handle what we need to. It’s not the most scenic part of the country, but for the seafood business, being in a place like GIDC makes a lot of sense. Everything is set up for logistics here. Our daily routine is fairly repetitive. We get the shipments in, sort through them, and get them ready to go back out. It is a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet for long hours. The floors are usually wet and it can get quite cold depending on the refrigeration. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big reception area. Most people who come by are just here to drop off or pick up stuff. We know the other folks on the block, and we all just kind of get on with our own business. It is a no-nonsense type of environment. We focus on the fish and making sure the quality is what it should be. There isn't much room for error when you are dealing with fresh products. We just show up every morning, do the work, and head home. It’s a straightforward life here at Plot 1017. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is.
