We are out in the G.I.D.C. area of Veraval. If you’ve ever been to this part of Gujarat you know it’s all about the industry and the sea. The air always has a bit of a salty tang to it. We handle seafood here and the facility is built for that kind of heavy work. It’s not like a regular office job. We are on our feet a lot and there’s always water on the floor somewhere. Veraval is a major hub for this kind of thing so we are right in the middle of all the action. The G.I.D.C. estate is a busy place with trucks moving in and out at all hours. We get the catch from the boats and then the real work starts. It’s a lot of processing and packing to get things ready. We have a solid crew here who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Many of them come from families who have worked in fish for generations. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. You just come in and see us working. It’s loud and it’s often cold because of the ice but it’s what we know how to do. We just focus on getting the day's work finished. It’s a tough business sometimes but it feels good to be part of the local industry here and keep the tradition going.
