Suncity Handloom

The shop is right here on Jawar Khana Road, not too far from Nai Sardak. It is a busy spot and we have been here for a good while now. When you walk in, you will see stacks of fabric piled up high, sometimes they almost reach the ceiling. It gets a bit dusty with all the threads and cloth moving around, but that is just how it is in a handloom place. We spend most of our mornings unpacking new stock or helping people find the right shade of color they need for their homes. Sometimes the light inside isn't the best, so we end up taking the cloth out to the front door just to see the real color in the sun. The traffic outside is always loud, and you can hear the rickshaws honking all day long. We have a couple of old fans that make more noise than they give air, but they help a bit when it gets really hot in the afternoon. People from the neighborhood stop by, sometimes just to chat or ask for directions because they are lost looking for the main market. It is not a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. Just a regular shop with wooden shelves and a counter that has seen better days. We try to keep things organized, but when we get busy, rolls of fabric end up everywhere. That is just how the day goes here. We close up when the sun goes down.
