Guru General Store

We are located in Jodhpur, right in the Chand Pole neighborhood, very close to the Police Station. This is Guru General Store. It’s a small place, but we try to keep it well-stocked with the basics that everyone needs. We’ve got soaps, detergents, some packaged foods, and little things for the kids. Living and working in Jodhpur means dealing with the heat, so we keep the shop open early and late. Chand Pole is an old part of the city, and the streets can be narrow and crowded, which makes for a lot of foot traffic. We aren't doing anything complicated here. It’s just about having the items people ask for most. Sometimes we run out of space for all the stock, so things get piled up in the corners. It’s not the neatest place, but it’s real. My family has been in this area for a long time, so we know the people around here quite well. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutter every morning and see who comes by. It’s a simple business, and we like it that way. We don't make big promises, we just try to have the milk or the matches ready when someone stops in on their way home. It’s just a regular part of the local community. We spend most of our time sweeping out the dust that blows in from the street and counting the changes.
