Craftmax

Down on Road No. 3C, Sardarpura, you’ll find our place at number 371. Craftmax is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s a workshop, through and through. There’s usually sawdust or scrap material on the floor because we’re always in the middle of a project. We don’t tidy up as much as we probably should, but we know where everything is. The neighbors at Sardarpura are mostly other small shops, so we all get along. We started this because we liked working with our hands. It beats sitting in a cubicle all day. We have a few old machines that make a lot of noise, but they still work better than the new ones sometimes. My hands are usually stained with ink or grease by lunch. We eat together in the back area. There’s no big sign out front, just the number on the door. People find us mostly by word of mouth. We don’t do much advertising. We figure if the work is okay, people will come back. Some days the weather is too hot and we move a bit slower, but the orders still go out. We’re just a small group at Craftmax trying to make things that last. It isn't a high-tech operation. It’s just us, our tools, and the stuff we make. We like it that way. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't need much more than that to be satisfied with a day's effort and a job done.
