Black Stone Art & Export

Black Stone Art & Export is based at B-35/36 in the Industrial Estate. Being in an industrial zone means it is never really quiet here. You have the sound of machinery and trucks from all the neighboring units. Our space is basically two large sheds connected together. It is a rugged place with heavy lifting and stone work happening most hours of the day. The floors are stained and there are chips in the concrete from where blocks have been moved. We have a small cabin in the corner that serves as an office, but it is mostly just a place to keep the invoices dry. It gets very hot under the corrugated metal roof during the summer months, so we have several large fans blowing all the time. There is a lot of heavy equipment around, so we have to be careful where we walk. Most of the people working here have tough hands and a lot of patience. We do not have any decorative plants or fancy furniture in the office. It is strictly about the stone and the export deadlines. The tea guy visits twice a day, and that is when everyone takes a five-minute break to sit on the crates. The Industrial Estate is not exactly pretty, but it is where the real work gets done. We have been in these units for a long time and the routine is pretty much set in stone.
