Finding us at 73A can be a little tricky if you don't know the area. We are right behind the New Power House in the Industrial Area. You can hear the hum of the power station if it’s a quiet morning. At Asian Art & Crafts, we have a pretty large space because we need room for all the materials. It’s an industrial neighborhood, so it’s not exactly pretty, but it’s practical for what we do. There are always trucks moving in and out of the street, and the air usually smells like dust and grease from the nearby shops. We spend our days working on various art and craft pieces, mostly using our hands and some basic tools. It’s not a clean job; my fingernails are almost always stained with some kind of dye or paint. We have a small area in the back where we keep the finished stock before it gets shipped out. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, it gets incredibly loud inside. We just keep working through it. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the middle of the floor surrounded by scraps of wood or metal. It’s a busy place and we don’t have much time for standing around. We just focus on the orders we have and try to get them finished on time.
