Vimal Metal

You can find us at Door No-B-17 in the Gidc Industrial Estate. We are part of that whole Udyog Nagar and Shankar Tekri section where everything is about manufacturing and materials. Metal is a heavy business, literally. We spend our days moving stock and organizing the yard. It gets hot in the summer, especially with the sun hitting the corrugated roofs in the industrial estate. We don’t have any fancy receptionists or anything like that. If you come by Vimal Metal, you’ll probably find us near the scales or checking the inventory in the back. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We deal with various types of metal, and every piece has its own value and use. Shankar Tekri is a place where everyone is working hard, and we are no different. We’ve had the same neighbors in Gidc for a long time, so we all look out for each other. It’s about being reliable. If we say we have something, we try our best to make sure it’s ready when someone comes to pick it up. The trucks come in and out all day, kicking up dust, and we just keep on with the sorting. It’s not a clean job, but it’s a necessary one. We like the rhythm of the industrial estate and the people who work here. It feels like home to us. We don’t really see ourselves doing anything else. The Gidc-Ii area is just where this kind of work happens, and we’re glad to be a small part of it. If the gates are open, we are here, probably moving some heavy pipes or sorting through a new delivery of brass or aluminum.
