Vidya Nikunj High School

You can find us at 10 Dwarkapuri Road in Jamnagar. It’s a busy street and there’s always something going on outside our doors. The school has been here through many changes in the city. Our building shows its age a bit, but it has a lot of character. We spend our days dealing with the usual school stuff—grading papers, talkative students, and the occasional parent meeting. The staff room is usually a mess of books and lunch bags. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. It’s just a place for learning and growing up. The hallways are narrow, and it gets quite loud when the classes change. We try to keep the noise down, but kids will be kids. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the building, making it quite warm inside. We have fans in all the rooms, though they’ve seen better days. Every now and then, we have to call a plumber or an electrician to fix something that’s quit working. It’s part of the job. People in the neighborhood know us well. They see the students in their uniforms every day and know when it’s holiday time based on how quiet the street gets. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure everything is ready for the next day. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the work week, surrounded by the life of Jamnagar.
