Umiya Kanya Vidyalay

Our school, Umiya Kanya Vidyalay, is located at number 24 on Balva Road, right near the railway fatak in Bhanvad. Being so close to the railway crossing means we hear the trains going by all day. It’s a sound we’ve all gotten used to. This is a girls' school in the Jamnagar area. We have been here for a while, and the local community knows us well. The girls come from Bhanvad and the nearby villages, often walking or taking a rickshaw to the gates. The building is simple and doesn't have any of the modern bells and whistles you see in the big cities. We have our classrooms, a small office, and a bit of space for the girls to spend their break time. The staff here is mostly made up of local people. We don't have a marketing department or a polished website. News about the school usually spreads by word of mouth among the families here. We deal with the daily grind of teaching and managing the school records. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the road outside gets muddy during the rains, but we just carry on. It’s an honest place where the focus is just on getting through the school year. We are just a group of people working to keep this school going for the girls in our town. That's our daily life here on Balva Road, and it keeps us busy.
