U P V Kanya Vidyalaya

Our school, U P V Kanya Vidyalaya, is situated on Darbar Gadh Road in Jodiya. We are right in the heart of this part of Jamnagar. It is a school just for girls, and we have been here for many years. The building itself has a lot of character, with old wooden doors and high ceilings that help the air circulate. It’s not a modern glass building, but it has a history that the locals respect. Most of the girls who come here live in the surrounding streets and walk to school together every morning. We don't have any big marketing budgets or social media pages. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for generations. The teachers are mostly women from Jodiya who have a lot of experience. We teach the usual subjects like math and Gujarati. There is a small courtyard inside where the girls gather for assembly. It can get quite noisy when everyone is talking at once, but that is part of the life of a school. We don't have many fancy facilities, but we provide a safe and steady place for girls to get their education. The parents often stop by the gate to have a quick word with us about how their daughters are doing. It’s a very close-knit environment, and we like keeping it that way without any outside corporate influence or complicated rules that don't fit our village.
