Taheri English High School

If you walk down Kalavad Gate Road in Jamnagar, you will find Taheri English High School. We have been sitting on this road for a while. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when the buses and rickshaws are all moving about. The school itself is a straightforward place. We have our classrooms, a small office, and the usual space for students to hang out during their breaks. We teach in English because that's what is expected, though you'll hear plenty of the local language in the halls between periods. We don't have big statues or expensive decorations. The walls might need a bit of paint here and there, but the desks are sturdy enough. Most of the staff live nearby, so it feels like a neighborhood thing. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids show up on time. There is always a bit of dust because of the road outside, but we sweep it out every day. It’s just a normal school day for us, starting early and ending when the sun is high. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a place for learning and growing up. You get to know the families around Kalavad after being here for so long. We just keep doing what we do every day without making a big fuss about it.
