Our place is on Jain Derasar Road, not too far from the Ratanbai Masjid. If you find where Giriraj Travels is, then you are basically right there. It is a busy part of town with a lot of people moving around all day. We spend most of our time moving boxes and checking lists of what came in that morning. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes it feels like we are living in a maze of cardboard. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the other shopkeepers on the street. It gets dusty because of the road work nearby, but that’s just how it is. We start early when the air is still a bit cool before the sun gets too high. There is always a lot of chatter from the people heading to the masjid or waiting for their buses. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us making sure everything is in its place. The floor is concrete and has some cracks, but it holds up well. We get a lot of regulars who just drop in to say hello while they are out doing their errands. It’s a plain business, really. We handle the inventory and try to stay organized, even when things get hectic during the middle of the week. Jain Derasar Road always has something going on.
