Shri Shantiniketan Vidyalaya

Our place is located at number 16 in the Sardar Patel Society, right on Street No 1 in Jamnagar. It is a residential neighborhood, so it feels very much like a community spot. We have been here for a long time, and the building has become a familiar sight to everyone who lives on this street. Shri Shantiniketan Vidyalaya isn't a massive complex; it’s a bit more modest and fits into the row of houses and small businesses. We have a small gate that leads into a courtyard where we keep a few potted plants, though we sometimes forget to water them. The rooms are a decent size, but they get crowded quickly once the day is in full swing. We use the same old cupboards for our files that have been here since the beginning. They still lock okay, but you have to jiggle the key a certain way. The staff is just a group of regular people from Jamnagar who want to earn a living and do a decent job. We don't have any big corporate goals or fancy mission statements pasted on the walls. We just focus on getting through the daily tasks. If a fan stops working, one of us tries to fix it before calling a repairman. It’s a very hands-on way of running things. By evening, the street is quiet, and we lock the gate and head home to our own houses nearby.
