Shree Nandan High School

Our school, Shree Nandan High School, is right in the middle of the Nandan Park Society area in Jamnagar. It is surrounded by Nandanvan Park and Nandanvan Society, so it's a real residential neighborhood. Most of the students live just a few streets away. You can hear the school bell ringing across the whole society every morning. We have been part of this community for years. The building is a bit older, with some peeling paint here and there, but it is solid. We have classrooms for the different grades and a small area where we hold our morning assembly. It gets a bit crowded when everyone is standing there. The teachers here are mostly locals too. We spend our days teaching the standard subjects and making sure the kids aren't running in the hallways too much. Lunchtime is the loudest part of the day when everyone opens their tiffins. We don’t have a fancy canteen, so the kids just eat at their desks or outside if the sun isn't too hot. Sometimes we have small events for holidays, and the parents come over to watch the performances. It’s nothing like what you see on TV, just simple songs and plays. We deal with the usual stuff like broken chalk or needing more notebooks. We just try to provide a decent place for the kids in the neighborhood to get their education without having to travel too far from home. It is a quiet life for the most part.
